Just Sayin’ devotion book by Carol McAdams Moore Zonderkidz

Giving Away a Book This Week!

I’m so excited to begin my giveaways. I’ve been saving up some books to share with all of you. I plan to only share ones that I would recommend for my blog readers. This month, I am featuring Just Sayin’ by Carol McAdams Moore. It’s a devotion book for 8-12 year old girls.

For the Artsy Girl

I still fancy myself a bit of an artist, though I wouldn’t dare draw anything for you since I haven’t kept up my skills. But, when I was around fourth grade, I loved to doodle and draw. I even entertained the idea of being a cartoonist for a little while. One time when I was sick, I was given a book that had different ideas for drawing and doodling on every page. How I loved that book! I could be creative and was allowed to doodle. A dream come true.

This devotion book is for girls like me. They have the chance to doodle, write, and draw on almost every page.

For the Journaler

I know lots of tween age girls who love the idea of journaling, even if they don’t keep up with it. This is like a journal with creative prompts. They might even grab their journals and continue the thoughts that start in the devotion book.

For the Reluctant Reader

This devotion book is easy on the eyes. Paragraphs are very short. The words are appealing and scattered about the page. If your daughter finds reading the Bible overwhelming, because of so many words, she won’t be intimidated by this book.

For the Girl Who Wants a Light Devotion Book

There really isn’t a heavy theology presented here. And, most of the girls I know at that age, really would rather have something a bit lighter most of the time. And, yet, it does hit some serious topics – just with a lighter hand. For example, one devotion uses Psalm 16:1 – Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. It talks about being afraid. A couple of short paragraphs talk about relying on God during those fearful times. Then, the girl is encouraged to doodle about her fears on the bottom of the second page. After she does that, she is supposed to go back with a big black marker and write “SAFE IN GOD” over each fear.

That’s it. Simple format.
